I am still here!  More than a year later and no one wants to adopt me.  There have only been a couple of inquiries on me since I first came to my foster home.  I am a very good boy, well behaved, love to play.  I sleep with my foster mom and still love my belly rubs.

Yes I still have my OCD about water and I have to potty a lot.  But that does not make me a bad dog and my same foster mom loves me and takes very good care of me no matter what.  She said I can stay with her as long as necessary ..... even if that means forever.

Ozzie is still looking for his forever home. He is incredibly sweet and loves to be by your side at all times so he that can get petted. Because of how long he spent on his own on the streets, Ozzie will drink as much water as he can, as often as he can. His brain still will not let him forget that awful experience. As you can imagine, this causes poor Ozzie to have to potty quite often. We have had the vet check him out thoroughly and there is no medical reason for the water drinking, it is purely a learned behavior. We are going to try to give him calming herbs to see if that will make him feel more secure.

The ideal home for Ozzie would be as an only child with someone home with him the majority of the time. First so that he can get all of the attention that he rightly deserves. Second so that you can closely monitor his water intake – it would be hard to do this with other dogs around. We recommend that he wears a belly band at his forever home. Belly bands are incredibly easy to use and will save you undue stress. With a monitored water supply and a belly band, Ozzie will be just about the perfect dog for the right home! He is being fostered in NW Ohio.

4/12/09 I am still here, can you believe it? I am really anxious to get my very own home. I cannot believe nobody has adopted me yet. Is it because I look funny due to my half missing ear? I am so much fun to have around. I am loveable and really like to play. I love everybody I meet. Most of all I like butt scratches and belly rubs and for sure sleeping next to my human at night. Please consider me becoming a permanent part of your family.

3/13/09 I am howling happy! Yes I am! I am almost all healed up and ready to go. I get to eat two great meals a day, I am not as boney as before, I get cookies, I play with all the toys, I got a big yard to play in with lots of friends here in my foster home. I sleep in bed with mom, I get belly rubs and I sure love my butt scratches. Mom says I will be getting my very own home soon where I will be treated just like I am here. This is great. Please go and fill out an application to adopt me, I am ready now. Ozzie

3/8/09 Ozzie loves to play fetch. We had quite the fun last night. He truly loves all the toys he finds scattered about the house. He enjoys belly rubs and being as close to me as he can get. 03/06/09 In the past 2 days, Ozzie has come out of isolation and found his way to the kitchen door to go out, then to the living room, which is off limits to most. Today he was playing with my "little" girls, dragging toys up to the couch and right now he is snuggled up next to me in bed. He is going to make someone a lovable little boy I tell ya. I am in love , he is soooooo sweet! Big thank yous to our generous supporters who have graciously covered his medical expenses! Soon as I get a little more weight on him, he will be ready for adoption.

03/03/09 Ozzie is doing well. I still have him isolated from the general population because he is still very fragile. This morning when I checked on him, he got up and greeted me. When I stooped down to pet him he gave me kisses!!! He is the sweetest little guy.

3/1/09 I cannot even find the words to tell you what a sweet little man Ozzie is. He had to be miserable for months. He never once got upset with me or the staff at the Vet's. I even accidentally snipped his ear while I was trying to cut through his matted coat around his head. When the Vet was working on him, he discovered that his ear was already damaged from an old injury and that my little snip was not that bad. He did fix his ear as best he could however, part of it is missing now, hence his name, "Ozzie Van Gough. He is emaciated but eating well. All his vetting is now complete and he will be ready for adoption very soon. In the meantime, please consider sponsoring him to help with his Vet bill and care. To date his bills are $425.00. A very special thank you to the entire staff at Porter County Pet Clinic for transforming Ozzie into the new beautiful boy he is now!
