Just an update to let everyone know that Betsy is still with us and living a comfortable quiet life in her foster home. She has her favorite bed where she spends most of her day sleeping. She gets up a few times a day and makes her rounds to assure all is OK. Even though she is totally blind, she knows her favorite route and gets back to her princess bed with no problems.
She is a very sweet girl and no trouble whatsoever.

Say hello to Betsy Blessing. Betsy is estimated at around 13 years old and weighs 8-9 pounds. Betsy’s story is a sad one. She was found as a stray by animal control in someone’s yard in the rain cold and shivering. Nobody claimed her so they contacted us to save her. Why are there so many heartless people on this earth?
Betsy is completely blind, very hard of hearing and is loaded with mammary tumors. She has learned her way around her foster home and can even find her way out to the yard however, she must be carried back in. Betsy is a happy girl. If she knows you are close, she will come to you and jump up to touch you. When she hears her name, she really perks up, gets excited and wags her tail. She has a good appetite and a great personality.
Due to the circumstances and her age, Betsy will just be living out her life with her foster mom in NW Ohio where she will receive lots of love and TLC for the rest of the days of her precious life.

IPPRA DOES NOT SHIP ITS DOGS. Please be advised that we do not transport. You will be responsible for coming to pick up your new dog on adoption day. The general location for each foster dog is listed in its profile. Preference is given to local applicants. Our Special Needs dogs (medical issues, seniors, puppy mill rescues, emotional issues) must be adopted close to their foster homes.
PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
