Tessa has indeed developed a diva princess personality and believes the world revolves around her. Although she is not cuddly sit on your lap kind of little girl, she is still as sweet as can be and has come so far from the scared to death girl that she once was.
She has her favorite bed and like most senior dogs do, she spends most of her day napping. She lets you know when it is time to eat and goes right to a crate to be served her breakfast and dinner. All in all she is doing very well.

Meet Tessa. She is 12+ years old and around 6 pounds. Tessa is a puppy mill survivor. She is still quite shy but is indeed full of spit and vinegar. Much like her foster sister Tasha Joy, when it is time to eat, you had better stop and feed her as she is quite vocal when she is hungry. She will run to a crate and bark until her food dish is in front of her.
Tessa needs a patient and experienced dog home with parents that will be able to love her and give her a lot of TLC. Even though she has been here for 2.5 months, she is still not very trusting of people. She sleeps in a dog bed, is sort of a loner but does get along OK with the other doggies here. She uses piddle pads very well and is such a sweet little lady.
Tessa is being fostered in NW Ohio and will need a fenced in yard.

IPPRA DOES NOT SHIP ITS DOGS. Please be advised that we do not transport. You will be responsible for coming to pick up your new dog on adoption day. The general location for each foster dog is listed in its profile. Preference is given to local applicants. Our Special Needs dogs (medical issues, seniors, puppy mill rescues, emotional issues) must be adopted close to their foster homes.
PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
