I had my surgery yesterday and boy do I feel rough, but it will get better and this pain will be short lived compared to what I would have had if the Angels did not find a way to do my surgery.
The dogtor cut off the head of my femur to get rid of all the damage that was there. He then cut a new notch into my hip bone to form a new joint. I am home, on pain medication and I need to rest for a few weeks. The dogtor said I need to rest in my crate and only go out to potty. He did not say I had to stay off my foster Dads lap. I love my foster Dad because he taught me to trust people. I will let you know how I am doing after I see the dogtor on a couple weeks.
Thank you to all of you that sent money which allowed the Angels to make my down payment. Please keep the donations coming because when my bill is paid for there are other pupsters here waiting to have some surgery too.
Until next time, I love you all,
Katie

4/29/10
Hey everyone, I need your help! My name is Katie and I am a tri-colored Yorkie that came from a puppy mill. I quickly started liking people and love men. My new parents saw me carrying my leg when I walked. Mom took me to the vet and the Doogter took a picture of my leg and hip. I have an old injury that was very traumatic at the time. The Doogter said I had to have been kicked or thrown up against something very hard to get that kind of injury. He also said if I do not have surgery on it arthritis will continue to set in and it will get worse. Mom was pretty upset because the rescue just paid for a couple other big surgeries on some of the other kids.
The Angels have some campaigns going on to raise money to cover the other bills from other dogs and hopefully will get enough money for mine too. If you can help, please sponsor me or donate to the campaign “Rescue the Rescue.” I would really like to get well so that I do not hurt anymore and I really want to find my forever home when it is time.
I will not be up for adoption until I have had surgery and am totally recovered.
