I have been in my new foster home for a few months now.My new foster mom has been trying several different ways to help stop my vomiting.I am doing better but when I drink too much water, I still throw up.
I have also gained weight so now I weigh 12 pounds.
I am getting along well with the other dogs and just waiting for my forever home.I am getting better about letting my foster mom hold me and I really like to snuggle up in her lap and get attention.
07-28-08 You may have been reading about me on sponsorship for a while and nothing has really changed except I got a little older. I am going to be 2 this year and weigh 7 pounds now.
Oh yes, I am a Yorkie/Maltese with megaesophagus. I have to eat less food more often and eat standing up. Mom makes my food soft into a meatball form. I love playing the food game and smiling for a meatball. When I am done eating Mom holds me on her shoulder for a while and I get her attention all to myself. I still throw up often and Mom is working on getting my food right. We are going to try a cervical collar since I have a pouch in my esophagus that holds the food. New ideas about feeding dogs like me come out all the time. My weight is great which means I am getting food through to my stomach.
If you have the patience and time for a dog like me, please tell the Angels. If not, you can always help with my care by sponsoring me.

Unless otherwise stated in the profile, all of our foster dogs require a fenced in yard.
IPPRA DOES NOT SHIP ITS DOGS. Please be advised that we do not transport. You will be responsible for coming to pick up your new dog on adoption day. The general location for each foster dog is listed in its profile. Preference is given to local applicants. Our Special Needs dogs (medical issues, seniors, puppy mill rescues, emotional issues) must be adopted close to their foster homes.
PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
