Davey says "HELLO!" He is doing fantastic! His vision is worsening and he now suffers from dry eye on top of having diabetes. As a special needs foster, he requires his insulin, syringes and now eye medication daily. His maintenance runs us close to $100.00 per month.

Davey is doing very well. He has been having eye problems lately but are pretty sure it is dry eye setting in as he is getting older. He is still a very loving boy and is happy and settled in with his foster mom. Please consider sponsoring him to help with his ongoing medical costs.
10/7/09 Update
Davey is still doing absolutely wonderful in his foster home. He could not be any more sweeter or happier if he tried. His diabetes is still in check and we have not had any problems at all.

Davey is still here and doing very well. He is still stablized with his current insulin injections. He is a lover boy. He loves spending time outside with the warmer weather and likes to lay on the deck and sun himself. He is the sweetest little guy and sure would love to have a forever family.

Davey continues to do well in his foster home. He is quite the comic with his little quirks. He has no trouble at all letting you know when he needs something and has become a creature of habit with the routine here. He's still loves to snuggle and can still see well enough to get where he needs to go. His favorite pastime is just chillin' out in a comfy place.

Davey is feeling much better and is now available for adoption.

We have moved Davey to Sponsorship as he suddenly became dehydrated and has an infection. When we know that he's healthy enough to adopt out, we'll move him back to adoptable. Keep him in your thoughts that he perks back up quickly

Davey has come a very long way. He has put some weight back on, his insulin is regulated and he is a very sweet little boy. He gets around fantastic, love to cuddle and sleep with his foster mom or just hang out on the couch and 'watch' TV.

Meet Davey. He is the result of a broken home. His parents got divorced and neither one of them wanted him. Davey is a diabetic and is blind. He arrived in horrid shape. Skin and bones, all matted but thin hair, crusty eyes, not friendly, slept a lot. We got him to the vet right away and we are working on getting his insulin on track. Since he has been here, he has learned the layout of the entire house. He can go up and down stairs and even go outside on his own.He is quite needy tho and must know where his human is at all times. He also insists on sleeping with his human however, he wakes up several times a night to go potty and he must be lifted out of bed. He does cry if he needs something. He requires insulin injections twice per day and special prescription food. Chances are slim that Davey will ever be adopted.

Unless otherwise stated in the profile, all of our foster dogs require a fenced in yard.
IPPRA DOES NOT SHIP ITS DOGS. Please be advised that we do not transport. You will be responsible for coming to pick up your new dog on adoption day. The general location for each foster dog is listed in its profile. Preference is given to local applicants. Our Special Needs dogs (medical issues, seniors, puppy mill rescues, emotional issues) must be adopted close to their foster homes.
PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
